Chrysalis Yoga
Our pretty little studio is nicknamed the chrysalis, as it is a pod for transformation!
Yoga is a practice aimed at becoming our best selves -- on many different levels. Yoga can reduce anxiety, increase energy, cure back pain and various ailments, and improve general well-being. Moreover, yoga helps develop a clear, calm, focused, mind and a strong, supple body. Every yoga pose confers specific benefits and influences consciousness uniquely. Salamba sarvangasana (shoulderstand), for example,benefits the thyroid and cultivates patience. Backward bends are invigorating and rejuvenating, while forward bends quiet the mind and soothe the nervous system. In practicing yoga, a relationship of dialogue is developed with the body. This relationship is part of what makes yoga so enjoyable, and its benefits so far reaching.
Private, semi-private or small group classes
Individualized yoga classes are available for those with varying needs; some students want to gain the courage and strength to join a group class, others want to combat fear of handstand, and some are looking for an afternoon of fun and healthy activity with friends. Private yoga is a great option for those with physical challenges, such as recovering from surgery or other injury. A private yoga class is designed specifically for the client; restoring, strengthening, and balancing as needed.
Open classes
The open classes here are taught in a flowing vinyasa style, with elements of vini and restorative yoga. Imagery, anatomy, and humor are used to guide students through a fun, balanced, and revitalizing practice. Classes are adapted to the needs and interests of the students, and will provide a manageable challenge to beginners while deepening the practice of experienced students. Students are invited to work at their own pace.
